By plane. Limon airport is the closest local airport to Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. Sansa flies into Limon and then you have to take the bus or shuttle to Puerto Viejo. It is a 40 minute flight and costs around $85 USD one way and the shuttle from Limon to PV is about 1.5 hours.
