How do I set up my Optus Netgear modem?
Get the power adapter for your Optus Netgear cable modem and connect one end to the device and the other to a power socket. Switch it on. Attach the end of the supplied coaxial cable from your wall socket to the cable modem’s Cable port. It may take up to 20 minutes for the modem to finish syncing.
Can I use a different modem with Optus?
If you’d like to keep your existing modem, router or dual device to connect to Optus nbn, then you’ll need to find out from the manufacturer whether it’s capable of supporting nbn speeds. If you are required to return the 5G modem, it needs to be returned in good working order within 30 days. If it’s not returned in good working order within 30 days, you may be charged a non-return/damage fee or the Remaining Device Payment Fee for the modem, depending on which plan you’re on.
